Mylly is Finland's most reputable shopping center
Finland's largest shopping centers have strengthened consumer confidence during the COVID-19 pandemic. The shopping centers with the best reputations are Mylly Shopping Center, Mall of Tripla, and Jumbo.
T-Media’s Reputation&Trust, which examined the reputation of shopping centers, reveals that people’s trust in shopping centers remains high despite the effects of the pandemic.
Of the thirteen shopping centers surveyed, ten received a good rating for their reputation. anseende for the shopping centers is at a reasonable level: none received a poor rating for their reputation.

“A good reputation is important for shopping centers. Reputation influences people’s choices about where they want to shop,” says Hanna-Mari Aula, a senior expert at T-Media.
“They must be attractive places for customers who want to relax, shop, and be inspired. A good reputation also attracts businesses and makes it easier to recruit quality staff. This positive cycle supports everyone’s success,” Aula continues.
A total of thirteen shopping centers participated in the study; these are among Finland’s ten largest shopping centers, either in terms of sales volume or floor space. A total of 1,815 Finns responded to the survey.
Mylly is the most sustainable shopping center, and Mall of Tripla is the most innovative
In this round of the survey, Mylly Shopping Center took the top spot as Finland’s most reputable shopping center. Opened in 2001, Mylly is the largest shopping center in Southwest Finland.
“We are, of course, extremely proud that Mylly ranked first in the survey. This shows that Mylly has been developed with a long-term perspective and in a responsible manner,” says Mari Hantula, CEO of Mylly Shopping Center.
Mylly is also considered the most responsible shopping center.
Mall of Tripla, which placed second in the reputation category, received the highest score for its innovation. Jumbo, which ranked third in the overall standings, received the highest score of all shopping centers for its products and services.
In the Helsinki metropolitan area, shopping centers are relatively densely distributed and located along major transportation routes. The abundance of shopping centers increases competition.
“Consumers can choose the shopping center they prefer from among several different options, and anseende is becoming even more pronounced,” says Aula.
Interaction is a key focus for shopping centers—products and services are their strength
In the survey, products and services received the highest ratings compared anseende aspects anseende large shopping centers.
Interaction with stakeholders is seen as anseende area anseende shopping centers’ anseende . The average score for interaction is 3.28, while the threshold for a “good” rating is 3.50 on a scale of one to five. None of the shopping centers surveyed reached the level classified as “good” in this category.
“Interaction, however, plays a major role in building trust and stakeholder support. For this reason, interaction can be considered the most critical challenge for shopping centers and an area that deserves attention,” says Aula.
This is how we conducted the study
T-Media’s special research study on shopping centers examined Finland’s thirteen largest shopping centers using Reputation&Trust. The goal was to determine the reputation of these shopping centers among the general public. An organization’s reputation score is calculated as the average of eight different categories: administration, finances, leadership, innovation, interaction, products & services, workplace, and corporate responsibility.
Data for the survey was collected in November 2020, and a total of 1,815 Finns responded. The survey targeted Finns aged 15–65 nationwide (excluding the Åland Islands).
There were two size-related criteria used in selecting the largest shopping centers: the floor area of the shopping centers and their sales volume (Source: Finnish Shopping Center Association, Shopping Centers 2020).
